GST Rate Cut: Now Movie Tickets To Become Cheaper

The Narendra Modi government has cut the rate of GST imposed on films tickets. Both the filmmaker and the audience will benefit from this. Many stars, including Anupam Kher, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, have appreciated the government’s move. Know how the ticket prices will be cheaper

All veteran Bollywood artists, including Anupam Kher, have welcomed the decision of the Central Government, in which tax has been reduced on the movie tickets of the theaters. The Government has reduced the Goods and Services Tax (GST) of total 33 items. Anupam Kher, Prasoon Joshi, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan have appreciated this decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Let me tell that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had convened a meeting of Bollywood actors and producers on December 18 at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. The decision was taken in many matters related to the film industry. The deduction of cinema tickets was also one of them.This final approval was given in the meeting of the GST Council held on Saturday. Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan have urged the government for this decision immediately after the meeting. Prasun Joshi said in the tweet – Last week, Prime Minister Modi listened to our demands. After this, the decision is welcome for the audience and the film industry.

Anupam Kher has written in his tweets, good news for the Indian film industry. Tickets up to Rs 100, which used to be 18% tax slab, now they will come in 12% tax slab. Tickets above Rs 100, which used to be 28% slab, will now be in the slab of 18%.

Akshay Kumar said that the government immediately took the decision after our meeting. These are welcome. He said that this movie is good for both the industry and the audience. This step should be welcomed by the government. Aamir Khan wrote in a tweet, thanks to the Prime Minister who he heard and decided on our demand for tax reduction. If Indian cinema is to be computed from the world, then the government is essential.
