Redmi Earbuds S: Price, Specification & Review

by on

The craze of true wireless earphones in the Indian market is now increasing rapidly. Initially, true wireless earbuds were found expensive, but now companies have started launching it at cheaper prices.

Recently, Chinese tech company Xiaomi has launched Redmi Earbuds S in the Indian market. Its price is Rs 1,799. Let’s know in this review how Redmi Earbuds S is and how it performs.

Design – Look & Feel

The variant we reviewed of Redmi Earbuds S is all black. The earbuds are quite lightweight and its box is quite compact. If you keep it in your pocket, you will hardly know that you have it.

The case of earbuds is made of a modest plastic, matte finish, but it does not look as premium. However, this is fine for the segment of less than Rs 2,000. As soon as you open the case, you will see two earbuds. The build quality of the case could have been improved further.

Indicators are given in the buds. If it is red, then it is charging; if it is white, then it is charged. There is the branding of Redmi at the top and Regulatory information is recorded at the bottom.

The backside of the case has a charging port i.e. Micro USB with which you can charge it. Scratches are easily placed on the case, so you have to use them carefully.

The earbuds are very lightweight and fit easily into the ears. The advantage of being light is that they do not look heavy on the ears. The grip is good, you can even run it by applying it, it will not fall from the ears.

Connectivity

The earbuds start charging as soon as they are placed in the case and you will remove them from the box as they will be ready for connectivity with mobile or any Bluetooth device.

However, for the first time, both earbuds have to connect separately with their phones. Once you have connected it to the phone, whenever you remove it from the case and your phone has Bluetooth on, these earbuds will connect themselves. After applying in the ears you will get a notification tone, then the connection will be stable.

Sound quality and calling

Sound quality is the most important thing for any earphones, even if they are wireless earbuds. If you like Base, then you will like this budget earbuds.

You will like to listen to it only slightly below full volume. You will be able to easily differentiate it by listening to Bollywood songs, jazz, hip hop. Talking about noise isolation, it is also fine.

In this budget, the audio quality of these earbuds will look better than the average and will not prick the ears. The base is good and the mids are also great. In high, it may bother you a little, but the good thing is that the company did not overpower it, which is usually seen in the year buds of this segment.

Control

For audio control, it has given tactical buttons that are at the top of the buds. That is, there is no capacitive touch, you have to press it to control. It is also better in many ways because your music or call will not be affected by accidental touch.

One problem you may also find is that there are not many controls available here. To change songs or calls, you need a voice assistant, that is, you have to activate Google Assistant or Siri. For this, you have to press the earbud. You can pause the song in one click and reduce the latency with triple-click.

After removing the earbuds from the ears, they will not disconnect from the phone themselves, you will have to either put them in the case or manually disconnect them from the phone.

Talk about calling, the voice on the other side will be very clear and its microphones are powerful. Your voice will be heard loud and clear to the caller.

The price of Redmi Wireless Earbuds S is Rs 1,799 and on this basis, it will prove to be value for money.
