Reliance Industries recently launched its new online grocery service platform JioMart, which is now available in over 200 cities in India. JIO Mart says that their move will compete with Amazon.com’s local unit and Flipkart in the Indian market. JIO Mart CEO Damodar Mall informed in a tweet that JIO Mart is working to deliver groceries to more than 200 cities in India.
Let me tell you, last month Reliance introduced its JioMart delivery service as a pilot product at select locations in the Indian financial capital Mumbai. Shortly before this, Facebook bought a $ 5.7 billion 9.99 stake in Reliance Jio’s digital unit.
With the help of this partnership, Reliance was able to roll out the facility of grocers and small businesses through Facebook and WhatsApp for a 400 million strong user base.
What is this service?
Customers desirous of JioMart’s services will have to store JioMart’s WhatsApp number 8850008000 in their phone contacts. Here customers get a link to order from JIO Mart. Once the order is placed, the company shares it with a grocery store on WhatsApp.
According to the website of JioMartLite, after this, customers are given notification of orders as well as a detailed description of the store.
However, it is worth noting that home delivery is not done under this facility. After placing the order, you can make this order available from your nearest grocery store.
It may be recalled that the facility was introduced during the Coronavirus lockdown so that people do not have to get out of their homes for grocery shopping, they can book the purchase goods online and make it available from their Nearest grocery store when their luggage is ready.
