Vivo is a Chinese smartphone company that has done many experiments in the industry. Some have been successful, some have been unsuccessful. Talk about an under display fingerprint scanner or a smartphone without a hole. The company has been doing such experiments. The under display fingerprint scanner has become trend, but the future of the smartphone without a hole is not currently fixed.
The Vivo NEX first generation was a great smartphone. The display was quite good and there was no knock in it. A pop up selfie camera was given and the rear camera was also better than the average. There was no shortage in performance either. However, it did not sell much due to its high price in India. During our review, NEX met almost all the claims of the company.
NEX 2 did not make much headlines. The concept of dual display was there even before this, but in NEX 2, the company brought dual display which was not successful. It was not launched in India.
Now let’s talk about NEX 3 which has recently been launched globally. Used this smartphone a few days and based on this, we tell about this smartphone. This smartphone is special in many respects. Apart from the water fall display, it does not have a volume button, it has been replaced with a touch sensitive button. The Qualcomm Snapdrgaon 855+ processor has been given and the rear has a circular triple rear camera module with a primary lens of 64 megapixels. This phone has a 4,500mAh battery and it supports 44W fast charge.
First thing is the display. Because the display of this phone is excellent. It has a waterfall display. This concept is not new, as Samsung has been offering curved screens in its flagship S series for a long time. The NEX 3 has a 99.6% screen to body ratio and the display is 6.89 inches. The screen is almost bezelless, though a thin chin has been given.
The display looks great to use. The reason for the curved display is also attractive and it also has its uses. During film, gaming and photography, its display is characterized. Obviously it is a high end smartphone, so the display of the phone is quite large. The display of the phone looks futuristic and other displays seem old in front of it, even if it is an iPhone 11 Pro with OLED panel.
Build quality and design
This smartphone is solid in terms of build quality and design. The best thing is that the circular camera module on its rear panel is not as bulging as the iPhone 11 Pro. Although the camera ring is a bit bumpy. Below this is LED flash which is inside only. The look is cliched and NEX is written at the bottom.
No buttons .. but .. X-Axis Haptic Vibration Motor
The traditional button for the volume rocker keys on the side of this smartphone has not been used. There are pressure sensitive keys here which do excellent work. The touch sense given in it and the X-Axis Haptic Vibration Motor works quite well.
Pressing lightly instead of the volume rocker keys makes this motor active and you feel that you have pressed the volume key, but there is no physical button here. It is activated during motor gaming and is a different experience during PUBG.
There is a dual selfie pop up camera space on top of the phone and there is a button next to it which is not visible. You can lock the phone by pressing it. The good thing is that the headphone jack is also given. The bottom of the phone has a USB Type C connector, speaker grill and SIM tray. The phone is of glass metal and the rear panel is its fingerprint magnets. The phone is big and it is difficult to use with one hand.
The Vivo NEX 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, which is Qualcomm’s flagship. It has 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It has support for UFS 3.0. This smartphone has been given Android 9 Pie based Funtouch OS 9.1. In this smartphone, the company has also given a vapor cooling system which prevents overheating during gaming.
It has been a great experience to use Vivo NEX 3. The performance is good. High end smartphone, specifications are top, so the scope to lag was negligible. Expects to use Due to water fall display, immersive experience is available. The under display fingerprint scanner is faster than before and the phone unlocks much faster. There are many blotware and Vivo needs to work on its user interface. Because it sometimes causes trouble. I can do gaming in the phone without interruption. I have tried duty and call of duty in Max settings and our experience has been good.
There is no problem even in
The camera of Vivo NEX 3 is also one of its features. This smartphone has a triple rear camera module, is circular. The primary rear camera is 64 megapixels, the second is 13 megapixels and the third is also 13 megapixel camera. This smartphone has a 16-megapixel front camera for selfie.
Photography is much better than this smartphone. An option of macro has also been given which you can turn on from the camera interface. The macro affects a lot, because you can take a clear picture of an object from very close and remain intact in its pixels. Normal photography is also good. You can click nice pictures in indoor. The picture clicked in wide angle mode is also good.
There is no change in the camera interface. Focus is fast and all three cameras are fast to switch. Be it ultra wide angle or macro these are fast switches. The pictures clicked show real colors, are sharp and contain details. It can do good photography both indoor or outdoor.
Battery backup of VIVO NEX 3 has been affected. Despite having a curved display (waterfall) display, its battery gives good backup. I have run it for 1.5 days in
