Redmi 6 Pro Review

Every smartphone manufacturer has to try to get more handsets into the budget segment. In order to maintain its empire in the same segment, Xiaomi recently launched three new budgets smartphones in the market. Redmi 6 Pro is the most powerful handset of Redmi 6 series. This is the first model outside the Radmi Note series in which Xiaomi has used the name 'Pro'.

Generally, Xiaomi uses the name 'Pro' to point to the powerful hardware. There is no doubt that Redmi 6 Pro comes with the most powerful processor compared to the rest of the two handsets in the Redmi 6 series. But this device has got different identity due to the display design. This is the first Redmi phone to come up with this feature. Many important specifications of the new model are Xiaomi's current Redmi Y2 ( review ) and Remi Note 5 ( review ) that match the smartphone. In such a case, there is also a question in our mind that apart from Notch, what is the Redmi 6 Pro? Through the review, we will find the answer to this question.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Design

Being a flagship phone of the Redmi 6 series, the attempt has been made to make the Redmi 6 Pro a little premium, such as the metal backplate on the back. However, the overall design is not very different from other devices in Shaomi of this price range. The phone is quite tired. It seems too big in the hands. But the management goes. Buttons give a good response. On the left side, you will find a tray, which has separate slots for two SIM cards and MicroSD card. One thing to note is that the Dual 4G VOLTE support is not supported in the Redmi 6 Pro, which means that only one SIM can connect to 4G networks at a time.

Port's placement is correct. The mono speaker grill is right on the bottom. In such a situation, the possibility of blocking it while using the phone in landscape mode is extremely low. The headphone socket is at the top. The infrared emitter is also the phone which can also work with remote control.

We had got to the Black Variant Review which comes with a matte finish. The fingerprints are not easily printed on this. You will be able to buy Redmi 6 Pro in blue, red or gold color. The fingerprint sensor is easy to reach and it is also effective. The vertical dual camera setup is on the back. It is slightly out of the surface but is not uncomfortable.

The most important feature of Redmi 6 Pro is the 5.84-inch full-HD + display. Contrast and brightness level are adequate. Xiaomi told us that there is also a layer of tuffen glass in the display. Which company is this? Do not tell it. Due to the addition of the Nokia, the display area has increased. But the bezel on the edges are still quite wide. Chin is quite wide in the bottom. According to us, the Nokia design of this phone is not very tempting. At the same time, Xiaomi has kept the notification LED in a strange place for some reason. It's in the corner of the left corner of Chin, in a corner, while there is plenty of space in Noch empty.

In the retail box, you will find a cover of the Redmi 6 Pro handset, sim ejector tool, USB cable, and a 10 Watt power adapter.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Specifications and Software

Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor is used in the phone, which is then two years old, but still is fully capable of common tasks. Gaming performance is not very cool. PUBG game default runs in the lowest graphics settings. After this, the gameplay is not very smooth. Our review unit was running on a pre-release version of the MUI software. For this reason, we have not been able to do most of the benchmark tests. Xiaomi has given us this information to ensure that the software is almost the same.

Two variants of Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro have been made available. One has 32 GB of storage with 3 GB of RAM. The second one has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, which we have reviewed. The phone has support for Bluetooth 4.2, Dual-Band 802.11 Wi-Fi, A / B / G / N, GPS, USB-OTG, and GLONASS. Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, Compass and Accelerometer are part of the smartphone. There is also FM radio, but NFC is not supported.

Our review unit was running on the MUI 9.6 based on the Android 8.1 Orao. The phone had security patches in July. According to Xiaomi, all the phones in the Redmi 6 series will get an update of the MiU 10 in the future.

Many gestures and customizable functions in the MIUI are also given in Redmi 6 Pro, from which we have already begun. Xiaomi has also given Nokia the ability to hide. The system does not always scale the reduced aspect ratio correctly. We found some content was being cut due to some menu buttons and many apps due to masking. Face Unlock is also done which works fine in most situations, except for Pitch Darkness.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Performance, Camera and Battery Life

In general use, the Redmi 6 Pro is extremely smoother. Interfaces do not seem awkward. Face Recognition is fast. The phone does not get hot. Casual games work well. But a game with more powerful graphics has to be played in the medium or low settings. We found that despite the 4GB RAM, the load time of the game was more than expected. Multi-tasking between apps is not always smoother The display's touch resolutions are great. Colors are Vivid and Panki. Due to this, the experience of watching the video on the Redmi 6 Pro is fantastic.

Audio performance is also good when using headphones. But the speaker does not sound very loud. Stock Music Player Comes With Humpback Music Integration. At the same time, the default video player shows YouTube's trending music video as a suggestion in addition to local files.

In the dual rear camera setup given in vertical position, a camera is 12 megapixels. It is equipped with F / 2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus. Autofocus works very fast in light of light. There is also auto HDR which works well to balance exposure. There was no lack of detail in the Landscape Shows in Daylight and the Colors also came to tempt. Primary sensor Macros lags a bit in taking a shot. White balance in the close-up shot is never perfect, so never! We are often forced to tap-to-focus to correct white balance. HDR photos took some time to save. For this reason, taking a blur-free shot at night was not easy.

The speed of autofocus falls drastically in low light. It takes too much time to save a regular image. The suggestion that HDR should be kept off, otherwise it will take more time to save pictures. Details are lost due to the noise reduction process. Colors also look dull.

The camera app is simple and easy to use. Portrait mode is also recorded which is possible due to secondary 5 megapixels. However, edge detection is extremely average. You can not decide the level of background blur before or after taking the shot. The 5-megapixel selfie camera takes good light in the light. But due to lack of screen flashes, the photos in low light come in the granule.

Video performance is also fine. Stabilization works well. You will be able to record videos of up to 1080 pixels.

Battery Life is one of the key features of the Redmi 6 Pro. The battery of 4000 mAh is easily handled for one day. A little battery is also left for the second day. Battery consumption is not very high when playing Powerless graphics games. In our video loop test, the battery broke after 16 hours and 45 minutes, which would be considered very good. There is no support for fast charging in the phone. But the 10-watt charger with it gives 55 percent battery life in one hour. It took about 2 hours and 35 minutes for the battery to be fully charged with zero.

Our decision

Redmi 6 Pro does not offer a very strong claim. There is no major drawback in this, but it does offer something very new or different than the Redmi Note 5. And the same variant of Note 5 with the same RAM and storage is also cheap at Rs. 1,000. You also have Radmi Y2 in the price of the Redmi 6 Pro with a front camera better. But you have to compromise the display resolution and battery capacity. If seen, Xiaomi has created confusion about its own portfolio.

However, these days are in demand. We feel that many people would just like to buy Redmi 6 Pro for this feature. If you are not interested in Nokia, then we suggest that you replace Redmi 6 Pro with Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 or Radmi Note 5.
