That’s why this article explains how to install an SSL certificate in three easy steps on the GoDaddy platform.
Step 1: Generate Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
In order to request an SSL certificate for your server or website, or a code/driver signing certificate, you must generate what is called a Certificate Signing Request (CSR). In other words, it is an identification of the server that will use your certificate, as well as domain names used by your website for SSL certificates.
Note that the method of generating a CSR varies depending on the type of certificate requested and your operating system.
Step 2: Request the SSL certificate
Following your purchase SSL certificate, you must specify the domain name of the website that you want to use the certificate.
Before that, here are some recommendations from us:
* Prepare all documents necessary for verification of your SSL certificate request: the necessary paperwork for this purpose is available online;
* In the event that you use the certificate on your own server or a code signing or driver certificate, refer to Generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) instead of an SSL Certificate Request.
The next step is to log into your GoDaddy account and click on the “SSL Certificates” section. Depending on what you need from an SSL certificate credit perspective, click Configure. If you have multiple credits, select the one that you want to use, and then click Configure. Finally, refresh the page. “New certificate” should be displayed; if this is not the case, continue to refresh.
Refresh the page: New certificate should appear. If it is not, continue to refresh the page until you see it.
Step 3: Check your SSL certificate request
As a result of your certificate request, GoDaddy must confirm that you are the legitimate owner of the domain name for which you are attempting to obtain the SSL certificate. A mail from GoDaddy will be sent to you to obtain the necessary information for the SSL certificate request.
