Mission Mangal is the incredible true story behind India’s mission to Mars. It shows how Rakesh Dhawan (Akshay Kumar) and Tara Shinde (Vidya Balan) together with a team of brilliant scientists successfully sent a satellite to Mars in their very first attempt, a mammoth feat achieved by no other nation. This is a tale of inspiration which shows how dreams transform into reality with a vision, the courage to pursue it and fulfill it with sheer determination.
It will be based on India's first Mars mission. Not only was Mars the first step towards reaching any other planet of India. It was named 'Mangalyaan'. On November 5, 2013, this satellite was launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. After the 298 days journey, reached Yan Mars on September 24, 2014. 6 months in planning this mission and the satellite was prepared in a fast track speed of 15 months in record time. The total expenditure in making this is stated to be Rs. 450 crores. Amazingly, it was the cheapest Mars Mission in the world. The most important role was to make it cheaper, then ISRO was chairman of ISRO. Radhakrishnan's The BBC had also told 'Mangalyaan' better than the satellite Maven (MAVEN) sent on Mars mission from the US. The story of the film is likely to be based on this mission. Squadron Leader Rakesh Sharma's biopic was being created in this genre but he is still not getting noticed. That's why 'Mission Mangal' is going to be the first Bollywood movie of Bollywood. Recently, John Abraham made a film called 'Parmanu' on India's second nuclear test.
